TIPS® (Training for Intervention ProcedureS) is the global leader in education and training for the responsible service, sale, and consumption of alcohol. TIPS is a skills-based training program that is designed to prevent intoxication, underage drinking, and drunk driving and now Puerto Rico has a brand new Trainers Team.
Teamworx is a local full service placement agency, specializing in the supply of well-groomed, experienced fixed-term staff to the hospitality industry in Puerto Rico and now three of tehir staff members are TIPs Certified Trainers.
Kendra Holmes, company owner and CEO, along with Staff Coordinator Carlos Santana and Team Leader Josué Vázquez Cruz, recently traveled to Baltimore to take the two day rigurous training and exam.
As of September 24th Teamworx is able to train not only all hospitality professionals in Puerto Rico, but also all employees that serve alcohol wether in a restaurant or bar or at the supermarket or festival.
In many states TIPs certification is required by law, and that seems to be the trend. In Puerto rico it is not required by law, but many big hotels and responsible restaurants, paradores and other liquor serving businesses are requiring their employees to get certified.
